SEER2

SEER2 is the new efficiency standard as of January 2023. It is the latest iteration of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) program for evaluating the energy efficiency of residential appliances. The SEER2 system is designed to replace old SEER rating system and to provide a consistent and comprehensive assessment of the energy efficiency of a wide range of HVAC products. It is an update to the original SEER rating system, and it takes into account a wider range of factors that can impact the energy efficiency of a building.

Starting from January 1, 2023
All HVAC systems must now be SEER2 certified

The main difference between SEER and SEER2 is the testing conditions for each rating system. These differences may seem like mere tweaks, but they still produce different data values and warrant a new rating system. The overall effect of SEER2 is to make air conditioners more efficient.
