Safe T Switch or AC float switch, also sometimes called an AC safety switch. Safe T Switch detects clogged A/C condensate drains and shuts off the system to prevent water damage to floors, walls and ceilings. AC float switches can be installed in the drain line of the air conditioner, and if water begins to accumulate in the drain line a small ball valve inside the switch will begin to float.
AC float switch
Can be installed horizontally or vertically. The AC float switch is activated when the level of the water in the pan comes above a certain point, causing the switch mechanism to trip/float to rise. When this happens, the switch will then send a message to the AC unit, and it will shut off, stopping the phase conversion and creation of condensation, preventing an overflow and alerting you to the problem before your home sustains any water damage.
AC float switches can be easily installed for your air conditioning system at a low cost. Repairing any water damage can be quite costly, so it’s a great idea to install a AC safety switch on your air conditioning unit as a simple but effective precaution to protect you and your home or office from unexpected damage.
