Evaporator coil or indoor coil - are one of the most important components of Air Conditioning System. It is located on the air intake side of the fan coil or atop your furnace. Indoor Evaporator coil are sutuated inside the home and sometimes referred to as the cooling coil. Its job is to remove heat from indoor air so the blower fan can return cool, refreshing air to the home.
The Evaporator coil works similarly in function with an Air Handling Unit.
Indoor Evaporator coil removes the heat from your home’s air and sends it to the outdoor unit - a Condenser Coil, located outdoors as was stated before, where then that coil releases the heat to the outside air. Indoor coil as well as Outdoor coil are crucial part of your home’s cooling and heating system so it’s very important to keep them clean. If the coil’s surface is covered with pet hair, mold, or dust, it can’t effectively transfer/absorb heat.
